Parliament is Sitting. So Where is George Galloway?

In the Middle East, giving a speech to the Union of Professional Associations, of course.

Let’s hope that the audience members remembered not to give him their email addresses, and therefore managed to avoid the tidal wave of spam.

Anyhow, the clip is worth listening to, if only to hear the masterful delivery of one of the oldest jokes in the book. Quality entertainment!

The HP obsession with George Galloway is becoming old hat. I attended a Social Services training course today, which included among other things a group discussion about reality TV (don’t ask…). When I alluded to GG’s “pussy cat” performance, the reaction from one of the trainer’s was “Who’s he?”

There were several responses of “don’t know”, until somebody remembered he was an MP and added that he was in the BNP. (Common this - UAF members canvassing in the local estates were mortified that people tended to confuse the BNP and the SWP). Someone else corrected that he had his own party called Respect, adding that “He was mates with Saddam Hussein”.

I can’t see him posing much of a threat to anything if this is the extent of his reputation.

I’m sure George will fly back in time for his weekend Radio Show.
One of the surprising results from the London Elections was that George polled significantly less votes in the “heartland” constituency of City and East than the constituency Respect Candidate.

Hanif Abdulmuhit Respect (George Galloway) 26760
George Galloway Respect (George Galloway) 20442

Perhaps patronising Muslim voters in the East End has run its course?

He is a popular entertainer. Kilroy Mark II. Not a threat.

Kilroy Silk is a good parallel, the vanity, the suntan, the parties, the leadership/non leadership, OK not the corruption and perjury.
But they’ve both got issues with Marks and Spencers.

GG- “Boycott M&S”
RKS -In February 2007, Kilroy accused Marks and Spencer, the UK clothing chain, of installing distorting mirrors in its ladies’ changing rooms to produce a more flattering effect. Marks and Spencer denied Kilroy’s claims, saying they were “at a loss as to what he might be referring to.”

This is why Veritas are such a valuable addition to our politics - they address the issues the other parties ignore. Even if no-one’s quite sure what they’re going on about, or whether the party still actually exists. Long may they continue, assuming they still actually exist.

One wonders what exactly Kilroy was doing in the ladies changing rooms at M&S to notice this strange phenomenom….

I agree with your assessment of Galloway, David, it’s just that his entertainment value is wearing pretty thing. And it’s interesting to note that, out there in the real world, his 15 minutes of fame seem to be over.

“people tended to confuse the BNP and the SWP”

Not surprising considering they are both poplated with self-deluding bigots.

Anyway, keep up the Galloway bashing! He’s self-grandising twat and deserves to be mocked at every possible opportunity. He, or rather the support of him, is a perfect example of why the left is in decline.

I would suggest to HP, though, to broaden its net - who are the other fools and hypocrites taking public money whilst pushing their bigoted views and sucking up idiots in their wake?

“This is why Veritas are such a valuable addition to our politics”.

Veritas is a political party? I thought it was some kind of internet-age credit card or bank. Or some on-line anti-fraud thing? Or that special purpose vehicle set up by Lloyds of London a decade ago? Or some kind of wanky (not wank) magazine?

Oh I know the answer to this one - its Boris Johnson isn’t it?

Galloway is a cunt (first time I’ve used that word since the site was relaunched) but a wholly unimportant and irrelevant one.

Silvio Berlusconi (oh beloved Italy! Why do you bring such obnoxious, crooked and dispicible leaders upon yourself?) and his cronies are of an entirely different order of cuntishness

The reason we continue to write about Galloway is that there are still people (fewer and fewer, but not an infinitesimal number) who take him seriously.

Having said that it would be better to focus more on the Tories, I am going to be entirely hypocritical and say that I rather like reading about Galloway’s latest gutter-related efforts. As long as he is an MP, or other public figure, he is fair game, surely? And if any article here makes the tiniest difference to stopping him doing anything else in the public realm, then that is all demonstrably to the good.

But some more nice juicy morsels on the BoJo regime as and when they come about (and they surely will) would certainly be most interesting too…

Shocking stuff, David. What colour are his underpants?

Whatever colour you want them to be Benjamin.

His underpants, I would guess, are yellow with a green motif:

British MP George Galloway defended on Wednesday Hezbollah’s Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah in an interview with a Jordanian newspaper, holding Lebanon’s unconstitutional government responsible of violence in the country.

Galloway, who’s renowned for opposing the war on Iraq and defending the rights of the Palestinians, said in an interview with Al-Ghad daily that “Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah and Hezbollah are protecting Lebanon and its sovereignty” adding that “without them Lebanon would have been another country; an occupied one.”

But George supports the occupation of Lebanon….Oh…

Despite the demis of Ken, there was some good news amogst those reults. Labour gained the majority of the vote in every ward in Bethnal Green and Bow.
Labour’s share of the vote across Tower Hamlets increased from 20% to nearly 35% in 4 years, while the Tories remained stagnant and the Respect share fell by 7%

What was the Respect % in Poplar and Canning Town?

Yes,
George seems a little confused about where he and his ex wife actually live.

This would be very easy to do, as there isn’t much difference between the BNP and SWP

Was wondering when Georgie boy would be mentioned on here. I see HP is still flogging a dead horse.
