Israeli Arabs and Jews rally for coexistence
This looks like the kind of demonstration I could get behind.

Hundreds of Jews and Arabs from the north and center of Israel gathered near Kfar Kara’a on Highway 65 Saturday in a rally for peace. The only sign present at the demonstration read “Hand in hand – neighbors for peace”.
Guy, a resident of Maccabim who participated in the rally, told Ynet he had learned of the event through a widely distributed email.
“It’s an Arab-Jewish initiative intended to boost coexistence between us in Israel, these days especially,” he said.
Those present stressed that they were not for or against the military operation in Gaza. They wore white and held hands to create a human chain along the road for one hour, without disrupting traffic. The demonstration was declared a success and organizers said they would hold a similar one next Saturday.

Lovely. “This land is your land, this land is my land” etc

They’re queuing for a bus, Gene. Don’t try to spin it.
It’s obvious you’ve never been in Israel, Mike. Israelis don’t queue up for buses.

I find the contrast with the previous post illuminating. Esp wrt the now ubiquitous abuse of the word “protester” to descibe the violent antics described in that other post.

“Those present stressed that they were not for or against the military operation in Gaza. ”
Are they somehow afraid? How could you be for food but not for or against eating?

Compare this with the pro-Hamas, antisemitic, disgusting rally in London.
Amazing.
At some point don’t people have to look a little more clearly at what they are supporting and who they are targeting for extermination, destruction, or “liberation”?
People like this are the targets of the thousands of rockets aimed indiscriminately at their homes, fields, children, animals.
Yet the state that tries to defend them is targeted for destruction.
Why?
And for that matter don’t they care about the Palestinians who also want to live in peace, who don’t espouse violence and destruction and thought control and religious extremism?
Don’t they realize that any two-state solution is doomed by people who reject it outright and are willing to sacrifice anything and everything just to destroy?
And what exactly do they believe should be done – not only about the endless acts of terrorism – but about the philosophies that spawn them?
Have people actually forgotten World War II or do they actually believe the Nazis were right?

It is a sentiment worth expressing for its gentleness. If people can live together in peace, then there is no need for war.
Now, if only the Palestinians would stop teaching their children to hate Jews.

“Now, if only the Palestinians would stop teaching their children to hate Jews.”
You said it, brother!

Not reported on the BBC nor likely to be.
At the least sight of a peaceful and equitable settlement for both Palestinian’s and Israeli’s, turmoil breaks out orchestrated and led by the Islamic People’s Republic of Iran and their proxies.

I can hardly wait for the morons at DailyKOS to spin it as a zionist pro war rally. You know it’s coming.
