One Copy of a Trot Rag, Slightly Soiled

Patrick Harrington, the veteran neo Nazi, is selling a two month old edition of the pretend Communist Party of Great Britain’s newspaper, the equally pretend Weekly Worker, on ebay.

His price is a mere £1.75. No markup for those who fancy paying the ’solidarity price”!

The edition contains an article by our comrade, Dave Osler:

Ideological pigeonholes

Dave Osler reviews Ervand Abrahamian’s A history of modern Iran (Cambridge University Press, 2008, pp224, £14.99) and Anoushiravan Ehteshami and Mahjoob Zweiri’s Iran and the rise of its neoconservatives (IB Tauris, 2007, pp215, £20)

Rush to buy, before this bargain is snapped up!

Abrahamian’s book has some interesting background on Reza Shah, the White Revolution and the number 72 but it labours the point about the diversity and fragmentary nature of pre-Reza Iran and uses the word bastinado too much.

‘One Copy of a Trot Rag, Slightly Soiled’

Harrington didn’t have a knuckle-shuffle while reading it, I hope …

Thanks for the plug. Sadly the Weekly Worker is not a big seller for me. I am hoping that once the downturn is over and external conditions improve both this and Socialist Review will pick-up.

I hope it gets a good price – especially as it features one of my articles.

Time was, a weekly glance at the website was a good way of finding out about rows within disRespect. The reports had to be taken with a big pinch of salt, given who was writing and publishing them, but the rows within disRespect were real enough.

Oh, and however much you disagree with Leninists of every variety, this particular lot are not Trostkyists.
