Jew Unites Asian and White Men
Many Jews have taken pride in their work to break down barriers between ethnic groups. From the murders of Andrew Goodman and Michael Schwerner, who were lynched by the KKK, alongside their black colleague James Chaney, through to Searchlight, whose first editor was Maurice Ludmer, Jews have been over-represented in efforts to build harmony and cohesion between this world’s many communities. So it seems, Jews are able to bring White and Asian people together, not by dint of anything that they do, but by their very existence. The JC reports:
North Manchester police are investigating an antisemitic assault on a 16-year-old boy as he walked home with his family from synagogue on Shabbat. Witnesses saw one white and one Asian man shouting racist abuse at passers-by from a black car parked on Kings Road in Prestwich. “They then got out of the car,” said one witness. “I saw one of them smack the boy in front of his mother and two sisters. “The attacker fell as he punched and, rather embarrassingly, his trousers fell down.” The car was later seen following two other young Jewish boys. Police say the victim suffered injuries to his eye and mouth and are treating the incident as racially aggravated.

I’m a massive fan of HP – and I’m a fan of Lucy Lips’ input generally. I also think it essential to keep highlighting antisemitic incidents.
This post, however, comes across like a cheap rhetorical point; bringing asians and whites together? Come on, that is lame and is a gift for your (our) detractors.

No doubt if, and it’s a big if, this ever comes to trial the Guardian, BBC etc will happily point out that this attack was justified by “legitimate” anger over the racist and apartheid behaviour of those awful Israelis (who of course do not represent real Jewish opinion) and that nobody would ever attack Jews anywhere ever if only they’d give up their only country on the entire planet and stop secretly running the world.

I’m trying to work out what would unite an “Asian” and “White” person in their hatred of Jews.
I do it on the basis of most likely probability.
I am going to assume on probability that the “Asian” is a Muslim since I can’t recall any hatred from Sikhs or Hindus.
That leaves the “White Man”. Could he be a Palestinian Solidarity left-wing nut? How about a Nazi (but then that might rule out synergy with “Asian Man”)?
How about a convert to Islam?
Trying to discover what motivates these antisemitic shits is a key to understanding how to protect the community from attacks.

I had time to mull on this on a long Greyhound bus journey this summer in Georgia. The African-American teen accross the aisle had his trousers slung so low he was seated in his underpants and the crotch of the trousers was stretched accross his knees. I thought how women had fought to be liberated from restrictive long hobbled skirts, and here was someone voluntarily hobbling himself.

I think Jews should be armed.
Sikhs can carry ceremonial daggers, so Jews should be able to carry 6-pointed throwing death stars and flick mezuzas.

And I’m still trying to work out how the murder of the two Jewish boys and the black boy in Mississippi is an example of how “Jews have been over-represented in efforts to build harmony and cohesion between Britain’s many communities.”

As a white Englishman I am ‘offended’ at the implication that I need any help at all from any ethno-religious-whatever you want to call it – group to ‘unite’ with anyone.
The terminology used is crass. The link between two of the victims murdered seems to define them primarily as Jews. Am I to understand that Jews dont come in my own skin colour?
Make your mind up Lucy – do we really have to equate skin colour with religious or racial preferences.

Without any knowledge of the political ideals of the assailants, I’m going to go out on a limb and speculate that these boys wouldn’t have committed such an act of violence against an Ethiopian Jew.

One of the leading lights of “anti-Zionism” in Canada is named Jagi Singh, who, among other brave acts, lead a very violent protest against a planned appearance by Benny Netanyahu at Montreal’s Concordia University a few yeas ago. Singh also accuses Canadian Jews of committing “cultural appropriation” for enjoying fallafels. (I guess he believes Jews were extinct from Asia Minor since the Roman conquests.)
Post colonial India was not overly kind to Jews or Israel, so there are probably some Hindus who hold similar anti-Jewish sympathies.

As an American I can never get used to how Brits call people from the middle east or India “Asians”… Americans don’t.
We tend to call people from China/Japan/Korea/Thailand/Malaysia “Asians” on the basis of looks, and no one else.
That said, I have read that a couple antisemitic books recently became popular in Korea, so “Asian” by our standards is possible too.

I think your first theory rings true the most. Then again, it is likely that these two are just a couple of thugs who’ll use any semblance of joint-hatred to carry out an attack.
