Yoani Sanchez seized and beaten
Almost a year ago, the great dissident Cuban blogger Yoani Sanchez (Generation Y) was warned by the Interior ministry that she had “transgressed all the limits of tolerance.” It didn’t stop her from her brave challenges to the Castro regime on Generation Y or her work encouraging and teaching other Cubans to blog.
Now The Miami Herald reports:
Famed Cuban blogger Yoani Sanchez said Friday she and another blogger were punched and thrown violently into a car by presumed state security agents as they walked to participate in a peaceful march in downtown Havana.
“No blood, but black and blues, punches, pulled hairs, blows to the head, kidneys, knee and chest,” Sánchez told El Nuevo Herald shortly after she and Orlando Luis Pardo were freed. “In sum, professional violence.”
“I, being a person of verbal pacifism, am shaken by this violence, because violence silences anyone,” the blogger declared in a telephone interview.
Sánchez, the best-known Cuban blogger on the island and off, said she and bloggers Pardo and Claudia Cadelo and a woman friend were walking to join a “march against violence” organized by several young musicians when they were intercepted by three men in civilian clothes. Cuba’s state security service agents frequently operate out of uniform.
Surely the Cuban authorities knew this brutal attack on a well-known blogger would be instantly and widely reported. So why do it? The only explanation I can come up with is that Yoani’s peaceful activities have so undermined the regime’s stale propaganda that they believed the possible benefits (intimidating Yoani into silence) outweighed the risks.
Perhaps readers in countries with Cuban embassies should make them aware that in this instance, the whole world is indeed watching.

Update: Yoani has not been silenced. Read her account of the seizure and beating.
Further update: More from Yoani, including this:
I am recovering from the physical injuries resulting from the abduction of last Friday. The bruises are lessening and what bothers me the most now is a sharp pain in the lumbar region which obliges me to use a crutch. Last night I went to the clinic and they treated me for the pain and inflammation. It is nothing that my youth and good health cannot overcome. Fortunately, the blow they gave me when they forced my head to the floor of the car has not affected my eye, only the cheekbone and the brow. I hope to have recovered in a few days.
Thank you to friends and family who have looked after and supported me, the effects are fading, even the psychological ones which are the hardest. Orlando and Claudia are still in shock, but they are incredibly strong and also will overcome it. We have already began to smile, the best medicine against abuse. The principal therapy for me remains this blog, and the thousands of topics still waiting to be touched on.

Well, she claims to have to post that way, but surely the Americans have rigged her up with something to make life easier. A programme like John The Ripper so she can grab WEP keys springs to mind.
OK, the blog has an account of the supposed attack that is very different from the version in the Herald. In her blog report she notes that the car was Chinese made and when she started to scream the attackers told people not to get involved as she was a counter-revolutionary. She was then driven off and one of the men made a mobile call to his boss and explained that they had been forced to slap her around for refusing to get into the car.
It looks to me as if the little slag had a chat with her handler and created the second version for the blog. There is no photo of her supposed injuries at the site. Langley really must try harder next time…

(Slaps forehead in astonishment)
Yes, of course. Bloxham and Exile are right. She made it all up. Or it was a “false flag” operation. Or something. Now I get it. Viva Fidel! Viva Che! Down with the counterrevolutionary gusanos!

Exile
You miserable cur. True or not your reflexive apology for those thugs is dreadful. Is there a repressive regime you won’t toady for ?
7 November 2009, 7:11 pm
I have no reason to suppose that she made it all up – the version in the Herald has the ring of plausibility about it. Cuba is a safe country to walk in, but shit can and does happen. I’m sorry that it happened to her, but that is no excuse to use a street crime as a pretext to attack the country. That is what seems to be happening, especially with the blog account which is very different fro the news report.
7 November 2009, 7:34 pm
What I would give to see some mobile footage of Bloxham given similar treatment. Or worse.
7 November 2009, 8:03 pm
Whether or not Naomi Sanchez’ acoount was true in all its details – and I have no reason to disbelieve her – she was indeed taken off in a car by Castro agents and had been warned that she had transgressed all the limits of tolerance – is this not enough!!?? Any ass knows what those people to do intimidate people.
The real liars are the kneejerking defenders of the Cuban regime, who will twist anything to suit their ideological purposes.
I have always been against the USA embargo on Cuba, because I think that would have been one of the ways to soften and alter the regime, instead of driving into poverty and extreme justifications of it against the American Goliath. Among the anit-Castro Cubans in the USA there is a fair portion of far right fanatics.
I am disappointed by Castro’s daughter, who took several steps in the direction of liberalisation, but stopped short at a certain point. I am one of the most cowardly people on this earth, but, when push comes to shove, I would, in her place, have risked everything including death to defy the anti-democratic policies of Castroist Cuba.
7 November 2009, 8:12 pm
Come on Yoani, are you trying to tell us that you are able to send long, detailed blogposts out of the country via your mobile phone, yet you cant take a picture of your supposed beaten face and body?
What a fucking liar
7 November 2009, 8:21 pm
Im sure if poor old Yoani said she was abducted by aliens smoking Cuban cigars and wearing army fatigues warning her about her blogs, useful idiots like Gene would reprint it word for word.

Nice commie friends you got here, Gene.

Nice commie friends you got here, Gene.
I didn’t invite them. I thought they were your commie friends.

and death to the strasserite vermin hiding out in mexico, too; chickenshit retards.
7 November 2009, 8:43 pm
Giggles.
7 November 2009, 8:48 pm
Detailed blogposts is putting it mildly, John. The post that gave all the supposed details ran to a ball crunching 690 words. The post even has a video of the march that she claims she was unable to attend.
However, no photo of her battered face has been uploaded.
7 November 2009, 9:17 pm
So there you go. Yoani Sanchez is lying. Why? Because the Cuban State would never never ever EVER do such a thing is why.
7 November 2009, 9:54 pm
Some people are just sick, the BloxHams and Exiles of this world are simply sick sad little assholes, ideological bigots who think they really do have all the answers, they are akin to the sick little bastards that presided over the Stalin show trials, they are your typical commie loving little pricks, ignore them, they are nothing, nobodies, zeros.
“convince a little man he is working for a greater cause and he will do anything for you”
Two little boys with one little ideological disease.
How do they end up this way, why are they so fucking thick, simple, education, 50 years of Lefty teachers and the likes of these two assholes are indicative of all they can produce, these bleeding heart lefty ‘teachers’ can’t even get the indoctrination of children right and people are still surprised when these leftists completely fuck up everything they touch.
As I say, nobodies, nothing, zero, absolutely no use at all, well maybe as a reminder of just how vile and destructive communism and its little brother socialism are but that’s all they are good for.
No doubt this one will be moderated but it makes me feel better, if only for the time it took me to type it.
7 November 2009, 10:01 pm
Exile just does it for the attention. The only attention he gets is either from trolling or paid for.
7 November 2009, 10:24 pm
We know she has not been silenced, you dipstick. We know that because your friendly old Exile went to the trouble of posting a link to her very words and then commented on the discrepancy between them and what was reported in the press.
And given the level of this twatting, the bruises must be terrible.
7 November 2009, 10:40 pm
Well then Exile, as long as it’s a little bit of being smacked around, a reasonable amount of slamming of head against the car door. Hey, it’s not rape if she’s unconscious and say ‘no’ too, right?
8 November 2009, 12:08 am
Bloxham, put your cock away. This particular beating of a woman by political heroes of yours is too mild to really get you excited. Stick to your Evin Prison videos – those guys *really* know how to treat a lady, and you just love it.
8 November 2009, 12:14 am
Exile is a man who posted 3 eulogies in a row to Slobodan Milosevic, he’s a man who often calls for the slaughter of the middle class. Though he denies it now, I remember an antisemitic rant..
He has always had a neurotic need to make a public display of being a monster. He can not ever resist the temptation to appear evil.
So now he’s defending more oppressive thuggery. This is the norm for him. It is the moments in between when he has nothing to react to, when he appears normal for a moment by default which are deceiving.
However, since he’s just a moron who talks trash on blogs and not an actual thug – not a man who has ever done anything in his life that matches his values (afaik), we can just laugh at the clown and ignore him.
8 November 2009, 1:08 am
You would need a heart of stone not to laugh at what follows…
Far from being prevented from blogging, this little slag happily sits in hotels using their wi-fi links – much to the annoyance of the press who saw her having previously fallen for her line about it being impossible to blog freely. So where’s the brass coming from, darlin’?
However, the thing that Gene is going to love is that the company that hosts her blog also likes to give out space to far-right and neo-nazi sites.
For some reason I find all this very entertaining indeed!
(Josh, first you said you vaguely remembered, now you seem much more certain. Could we have a link, please, because otherwise I will just have to conclude that you are a right spaz who makes things up?)
8 November 2009, 1:16 am
Hang on a minute – I have written exactly three posts about Slobodan Milosevic, but they were not in a row. Check if you don’t believe me.
Josh, these porkies really have to stop. You are making yourself look a right webmong.
8 November 2009, 1:22 am
Meh, Exile it was just a stupid rant in an HP comment section.
Her own account says that she was taken and beaten… and that’s pretty much all it says.
Then you link to an article showing her bruised face which says that after her beating she blogged from a hotel wifi that one needs to pay “foreign currency” for access.
Oh the horror. Foreign currency you say? Perhaps you should go beat her again till she gives up every Mexican peso.
8 November 2009, 1:28 am
Eh, where did I link to any article that showed her bruised face? You made that up as well – the article showed a woman so ugly that she probably has to get her vibrator pissed, but that is all.
Not only that, but the article is from May -check if you don’t believe me – so how can that be after the supposed beating? Go on – you made that up as well didn’t you?
Just like you made all the rest up – what a prime wally you are to be sure.
8 November 2009, 1:30 am
Exile, I checked your blog right after Milosevic died and there were three article together. I see two together now, March 11 and March 12 in your search. Probably the third article isn’t showing up for some reason, maybe you spelled his name correctly that time “Milošević” or you just called him the president or you deleted one. Who cares. You just linked to two eulogies in a row, doesn’t that rather make my point?
8 November 2009, 1:38 am
Ah, I assumed that your article was relevant and didn’t check the date.
So if this was b4 that date, well there is some scaring on the left side of her face. Coincidence then.
Why am I wasting my time with you. Are there any other journalists you thing should be thrown into cars and beaten? You and Zin seem to agree that there should be supreme punishment for the crime of writing articles that disparage Cuba’s government.
By supporting thuggery you only validate the position of those who oppose the government. You make it clear that if one wishes to support the Cuban regime then one is forced to support thuggery and suppression of the press. How many people do you think are willing to follow you over that cliff?
8 November 2009, 1:46 am
Making more shit up I see. Or just taking the word of the little slag – a word that changes depending upon her audience. So she tells people that she cannot blog and then a shitload of hacks catch her doing just that. Then she tells a paper that she was attacked on the street, and on her blog all that changes and it becomes a government move against her.
You don’t see yourself being used here, do you? Thought not – that’s ‘cos you’re a dip.
8 November 2009, 3:12 am
Gene,
Your naughty, you know “bourgeois liberties” are overrated, what matters is that Cuba has a “great” education and health care system.
8 November 2009, 6:10 am
Gene asks:
“Surely the Cuban authorities knew this brutal attack on
a well-known blogger would be instantly and widely
reported. So why do it?”
Well, the UNHRC is somewhat occupied [ get it? :-} ] with
a much more brutal regime. So while the world is occupied
with Jews who are – gasp – actually allowed to defend
themselves … totalitarian regimes get away with literal
murder.
Your leftist friends – any distance outward from the center -
are to blame. Exile is a good example. Typical misdirection
play. The honorable’s exhaust themselves defending Israel.
So those like the actual cock sucking Andrew Sullivan can
defend the thugs.
8 November 2009, 6:13 am
By the way the term I use to classify Andy Sullivan is not
meant as a pejorative. It is used as a pure descriptive.
I am not a homophobe. One of my best friends is gay.
But for some reason he didn’t want to marry any of
my sisters. He did like my brothers though :-}
8 November 2009, 8:21 am
Isn’t Exile a bit too barbaric to be acceptable on any civilised blog? Mind you, he reveals truth about himself and about HP which is not as censorius as the Cuban regime is. Maybe he doesn’t really mean anything he says and is just trying to work himself up into an orgasm.
8 November 2009, 10:02 am
The resident chekists- in comments only to be fair – are the sort that in another age would have heartily condemned Nazism for years and then would have

The resident chekists- in comments only to be fair – are the sort that in another age would have heartily condemned Nazism for years and then would have

8 November 2009, 12:38 pm
@exile – I’m sure there is room for a debate about the qualities/accuracy of the blog and the rights and wrongs of the Cuban regime without repeatedly referring to this woman as ‘a little slag”.
8 November 2009, 1:06 pm
Yeah it was the constant insulting of the victim I took as a signal that he supports her being attacked.
8 November 2009, 1:31 pm
Has anybody yet given a valid reason why Yoani hasnt yet provided photographic evidence of her supposed beating?
Anybody?
8 November 2009, 1:42 pm
Sarah, I entirerly agree with you about the references to the”little slag” but Exile is obviously sadistic and probably thrills at those words. He’s on the wrong site.
When I look through the demented comments I go back to the original article to get back a feeling of sanity.
Anaximander – I agree with his furious indignation and denunciations, but his failing is to make one cohesive lump out of communism and socialism. Those words cover a wide spectrum of attitudes and people, many of whom don’t have the slightest desire to kill millions of people or to support backward regimes that torture and kill. I prefer to be more specific about accusations: SWP, Galloway, Respect, Universities that are hotbeds of anti-semitisim and so on. Thought it is true that leftist fascism is pretty widespread among intellectuals who have betrayed their own intelligence at the moment.
8 November 2009, 1:51 pm
It must be the ‘Exiles’ of the world and the truths about themselves they betray that make the good people of the Left become suddenly strangely reticent on occasion. Witness Mark Steel going into contorted mumblings on HIGNFY the other week when Ian Hislop posited that he should be gratified re one news item since he was a Leninist. At Steel’s boggle-eyed, strangulated reaction, Hislop modified it to ‘Socialist’ which apparently did nothing to free up Steel’s stricken demeanour.
8 November 2009, 2:09 pm
Has anybody yet given a valid reason why Yoani hasnt yet provided photographic evidence of her supposed beating?
Anybody?
I have every valid reason to think, should Sanchez produce such a photograph, that Bloxham and Exile will assert that it was faked.
8 November 2009, 2:53 pm
Why do you people think Exile’s politics matter? He’s a common internet troll. The subject makes no difference – you’d be a fool to read any ideology into it.
Who cares was he said about Milosovic in between posts linking to porn videos and providing ‘information’ about Mexican prostitutes?
FFS some people would give time out of their day (and space in the comments section) to virtually anybody.
8 November 2009, 4:36 pm
My, my – so much old wank and so little time before breakfast to answer it.
I have never written about Mexican prostitutes, but I could do if it pleases you.
I refer to it as a little slag because that is what it is: a rancid little slag that gets brass from the USA and wants to undermine socialism in Cuba. I also use the words like that because it offends people that I despise. . .
Finally, I would not claim that any photo produced was faked for the fun of it. However, I am curious to know why no photo showing its well battered face has been produced.
8 November 2009, 5:26 pm
Like the way Exile Repeatedly refers to her as ‘it’. Would you do that if she was a male blogger? No, you wouldn’t you cowardly, sick piece of shit. You and Bloxham are doing the far left proud, keep it up.
8 November 2009, 5:32 pm
“It looks to me as if the little slag had a chat with her handler and created the second version for the blog.”
The thoroughly charmless Exile seems to have resorted to type.
8 November 2009, 5:36 pm
….oh, I forgot to say….please don’t come back.
8 November 2009, 6:03 pm
Simple question, please somebody answer with a yes, or a no.
Are we supposed to believe that Yoani has no way of providing photographic evidence of her claims?
8 November 2009, 6:27 pm
Many of its claims are lies, John. Like the one about not being able to blog from Cuba – here’s a report with photo that shows it doing just that.
Naah, this is a lump of middle class shit that is trying to work its ticket.
8 November 2009, 6:56 pm
My favorite bit here is where the very definition of a “useful idiot,” namely John Flotsam, calls Gene a useful idiot. Pot. Kettle. Black.
8 November 2009, 7:02 pm
The dehumanization exhibited by exile and flotsam (”slag,” “it” etc.) is but a taste of what happens to the “enemies of the people” — defined of course, only by those think like flotsam and jetsam — when their reactionary leftist (actually dirty little blackshirt) ilk gain power. Fortunately, that is unlikely to happen anywhere else in our lifetimes, and pity the few and (thankfully) dwindling number of poor states that still have to put up with it now, each and every one a paragon of freedom and human rights (i.e. N. Korea, China, Cuba, etc.).
8 November 2009, 7:18 pm
The answer is YES John. Yes, you are a cunt. Yes.
8 November 2009, 7:21 pm
51 posts, and none of you can come close to justifying why there are no pictures.
What craven ‘journalism’ to reprint such unsubstantiated claims, that if true, would be SO EASY for Yoani to prove
You all know it too
8 November 2009, 8:39 pm
Some people would obviously like to see a bruised body. Yes, I admit that it would clarify things if Yoani could produce some evidence. But what is far more significant is that Exile and co. would be very pleased if she had been beaten to death, and – it seems -. would like to have done it themselves. They give themselves away for the Lumpenproletariat – despised by Marx – which they are, the last people who can do anything for oppressed classes, other than oppress them even more. When thugs that had nothing to do with the Russian revolution started beating up anyone they found in a middle class street, Lenin’s wife asked, “Shouldn’t we stop this?” and he replied, “No,let them carry on.” Be it the BNP or Exile that is where there barbarity beloings and they belong behind bars. (metaphor)

No, and how pathetic that instead of trying to answer a simple point, the readership here would rather insult, slander and smear those who raise points they dont like.
I will keep trying, because Im sure somewhere deep in the bowels of Harrys Place, one reader will have the decency to answer a perfectly legitimate and simple question
Why no pictures?
8 November 2009, 10:44 pm
The question about the photo is legitimate but the answers aren’t. All they show are people desperately afraid that what they believe might not be the truth.
8 November 2009, 10:48 pm
Would this be you? http://bnp.org.uk/members/johnnyb9/
No, and how pathetic that instead of trying to answer a simple point, the readership here would rather insult, slander and smear those who raise points they dont like.
Post a photo to prove it, you little slag.
8 November 2009, 11:02 pm
‘Post a photo to prove it, you little slag.’
Brilliant!
Come come John, our little red-brown friend, let’s have it.
8 November 2009, 11:35 pm
Our team doesn’t need to prove anything. We are not the mugs who have been taken in by some chancer, are we?
9 November 2009, 12:06 am
I assume “the team” object to opinions such as:
Those who discriminate against people like themselves especially bother me: the hotel doorman who berates the Cuban but lets a shouting gesturing tourist pass; the prostitute who will go, for ten convertible pesos, with a Canadian twice her age but doesn’t want to seem “defeated” by accepting a fellow Cuban; the Santiaguan who, once installed in Havana, mocks the accents of people from his own city.
Often I wake up and wish I was mixed, like Reinaldo and Teo, because when you look at my straight nose and my pale skin you think I have it easy. But it’s not true. There are many ways of being separate, because along with racism here we have discrimination based on social origin, the stigma of ideological affiliation, and the exclusion for not belonging to a family clan with power, influence or relationships. Not to mention the underestimation one receives in a macho society for having a pair of ovaries hidden in the middle of your belly. And so I am bothered by the dissertation of the driver who stopped the car because of the pallor of my skin. I want to get out, but it’s late, very late.

How dare she!
9 November 2009, 12:18 am
‘Our team’??? I take it that’s a tag team comprised of you and Bloxham. Women being the preferred opponents. Tied down if possible. Pair of fucking wankers.
9 November 2009, 12:25 am
Yeah, yeah, yeah…
Still no answers to the questions, I see. Probably because no answers are possible.
Face it, you are being played for mugs.
9 November 2009, 3:19 am
Why will nobody answer the question that John Bloxham raises?
9 November 2009, 4:47 am
Anon, Bloxham didn’t ask a question.
9 November 2009, 5:07 am
What I find amusing is that Exile wants to defend socialism in Cuba, yet he also links to neo-Nazis on his website. Either he is one very confused little bunny, or he is some sort of arch-satirist making a point about the similarities between the extreme Left and Right, or he is an utter trolll.
How tiresome.
9 November 2009, 7:33 am
RE: We are not the mugs who have been taken in by some chancer, are we?
Yes u r, by a chancer and his brother both named Castro. Not to mention Marx, Lenin, Trotsky, Stalin or whoever else’s ideology you stick to like white on rice.
As for that question you keep blathering on about, who cares? Let’s say, just for the sake of argument, that she is making it all up. That doesn’t change what cuba is or the fact that a large proportion of its citizens are ready anytime to risk their lives in rickety boats just for the chance of having a normal life where you can criticize the govt without fear and don’t have to prostitute yourself for your next meal.
What a couple of assholes you are.
9 November 2009, 8:01 am
Bloxham, my hired goons are on their way round to your place to deliver a sound thrashing. We’ll see how long it then takes you to post the photos of your mauling.
9 November 2009, 8:51 am
Bloxham or hoodlums abroad
“…the readership here would rather insult, slander and smear those who raise points they dont like.”
It’s not the readers who slander and smear you; you do it to yourselves. Some readers object to your language, attitude and support for a totalitarian regime under which Castro thugs can do anything they like to people.
I have to admit for the sake of dispassionate honesty, that no evidence from Yoani is a point against her story. The account of being dragged into a car rings true and is not at all surprising, and she had been threatened in advance, but one begins to think she may not have been quite as bruised as she makes out – though someone – I think the Bloxham lot themselves – refer to a picture of her with a bruised face -. Somewhere among the accounts of the incident I do remember reading that Yoani and her friends left the car – which should never have been there in the first place – physically intact. If she, hypothetically, has exaggerated the attack, this does weaken her position.
9 November 2009, 9:40 am
This never happened. This lady CIA agent. Cuba is a paradise. No really. People free to come and go. People free to do as they please. Prisons are lovely. Hotels more like. Crime very low. Only trouble caused by Yankees. Communist experiment big success. Lady have accident soon.
9 November 2009, 11:57 am
Yoani Sanchez’s claims about having to disguise herself as a tourist and sneaking into hotels to illicitly use the internet are complete fabrications.
It would take anyone who arrives in Havana for the first time about 5 minutes to access the internet via a hotel connection, a hotwired connection at someone’s house, a work connection, or wifi. Cubans call this way of getting things done, ‘resolver’. As Sanchez lives in Havana, you can cut the ‘resolver’ time to 2 minutes.
Hotel connection is the most expensive at around $5 to $10 an hour, but still used mainly by Cubans. No-one “disguises themselves as a tourist” – what a crock of shit. A hotwired connection is $1 an hour – there are thousands of these all over the city. A work connection would be by negotiation, but probably about the same cost.
Sanchez is linked up with the far right Miami Cuban-Americans, so whilst she might be lacking in honesty, she’s certainly not lacking a few bucks for the internet.
But as Sanchez has a nice laptop and uses wifi, she can link up to anyone’s computer anywhere, and Exile has posted a nice photo of her doing just that. The US Interests Section on Havana’s Malecon also provides 24 hour passes and full office facilities, including internet, to anyone who knocks on the door and proclaims themselves to be a dissident.
The unavoidable truth is that Sanchez invented her story about the internet to push her agenda.
As she has failed to provide any photos of her supposed injuries or any other supporting evidence, what’s the chances she made up this lurid story about her attack as well?
9 November 2009, 1:10 pm
Other than the fact they’re both cunts, Exile and John Bloxham have one other thing in common – they both do their shilling for Castro’s regime from somewhere other than Cuba. That tells us something.
9 November 2009, 1:42 pm
Thank you Zin. Cheque has been mailed.
9 November 2009, 2:20 pm
Exile’s repeated use of the word “slag” says more about his own repressed sexuality and misogyny than anything else. Has it never occurred to him that state agents may be skilled at roughing people up and leaving no marks?
9 November 2009, 2:43 pm
Thanks Havanabot. You might not like what I have to say, but unlike Sanchez my cheque will at least have been honestly earned.
9 November 2009, 2:52 pm
‘Exile’s repeated use of the word “slag” says more about his own repressed sexuality and misogyny than anything else.’
He was a pornographer as well, using grot to fund his blog. I don’t know if he still does, I don’t read it – but then I don’t expect anyone else does either.
9 November 2009, 3:41 pm
Poor Calvin and Ken. Twenty years ago today their dreams were shattered when the Berlin Wall was torn down, live on TV, by the masses those two old fools imagined were liberated by it. Truly they are like those two old codgers heckling from the peanut gallery in the Muppet Show-like remains of the world communist movement.

“As for that question you keep blathering on about, who cares? Let’s say, just for the sake of argument, that she is making it all up. That doesn’t change what cuba is”
Finally, a honest answer
We all know she lied

Has it never occurred to him that state agents may be skilled at roughing people up and leaving no marks?
Its possible. My ex used to knee me in the stomach, below the ribs, which doesn’t seem to leave much in the way of bruises, but still isn’t much fun.
Whatever the truth of the matter the person who has come out of this whole debate with a sullied reputation appears to be Exile. Perhaps if you tried to keep your misogyny hidden, people might pay more attention to your opinions.

I think Bloxham is on his vinegar strokes. He’ll shut up soon. Hopefully.
9 November 2009, 4:47 pm
In the end it comes down to credibility, doesn’t it? Yoani Sanchez, whose life and activities are pretty much an open book, as opposed to a government with a 50-year record of brutality, lying and suppression of dissent. Guess who I believe?
9 November 2009, 4:50 pm
I bet she’ll start mutilating herself now and take pictures of that in a vain effort to convince the outside world of her story. Are there any depths to which this woman will not sink!!
9 November 2009, 4:59 pm
I understand, Gene. You believe the man who throws you the table scraps – in return he tells you to hate Cuba. What a good and faithful servant you are to the man.
The comment box over at the site of the gusanita is now filling with people demanding that a photo of her bruises be produced. She has claimed that her face is black and blue, but still refuses to post the photo.
I caught her out telling porkies and have posted the evidence of that on my site. What evidence does anyone have to suggest that she is not lying about this as well?
People, you have no idea how much I am enjoying this.
9 November 2009, 5:18 pm
Is John Bloxham actually John Game? The former hasn’t been seen in a while!
9 November 2009, 5:19 pm
And are they both ‘SWP_John’?
9 November 2009, 5:20 pm
I meant the latter, not the former. The former is here!
9 November 2009, 5:22 pm
Calm down Bloxham-Graham, we’re all one.
9 November 2009, 6:07 pm
Flotsam: I never said she lied. Perhaps you don’t understand the meaning of “just for the sake of argument.” I’m not surprised, you obviously don’t know the meaning of words like “freedom,” “dictatorship,” “will of the people” etc etc.
So no, I don’t want you to consider my answer “honest.” Praise from the likes of you and your fellow Communist lap dogs Exile and Zin is like drinking drain cleaner. Toxic.

In the end it comes down to credibility, doesn’t it? ~ Gene
Sanchez hasn’t enhanced hers by fabricating comical stories about her internet access.
And you haven’t enhanced yours by describing the 2002 Venezuelan coup plotters as “democracy activists”.
For some reason you don’t seem the slightest bit interested in the 4,500 Hondurans arrested since the June 28 military coup, nor the 27 assassinations, hundreds of wounded, numerous cases of torture, systematic campaign of rape, acid attacks on TV and radio stations… In this case the photos are all available, if you care to look.
But perhaps in your eyes the people doing this are also democracy activists?
9 November 2009, 7:27 pm
Excellent, now we have Calvin Tucker, .a.k.a. Zin, on the record stating that Yoani Sanchez fabricates stories about internet access in Cuba. Imagine someone having internet access problems in Cuba, that beacon of freedom!
You would have gladly beaten her up, as you did to that poor sod in Soho, wouldn’t you?
9 November 2009, 7:48 pm
Look, what you people don’t understand is that Calvin Tucker-Zin has expertise in the matter of inflicting facial injuries on political opponents one encounters in bloggerdom.
I grew up in a LONDON barrio, mate, so I know how to look after myself. The last guy who tried it on with me, left for hospital in an ambulance and required reconstructive surgery to his face. And no, I’m not kidding. (here)
Zin, please post some photos of the capitalist lackey running-dog’s face after you smashed it up! We need proof, comrade!
10 November 2009, 12:25 am
Exile, John Bloxham, Zin & Co. are really the total scum of the Earth who are not fit to be pissed on.
Gene, thanks for re-posting Yoani’s reports here at HP.

John Bloxham & Zinn,
Light is starting to shine – I know why this scab didn’t post a photo – it was because there was nothing to show! CNN have a report which will run at my place from 6.00am GMT. The journalist speaks carefully but it is obvious that he doesn’t really believe the tale. As for bruising, she has light marks on one arm and claims a smack to the mush, but I can’t see anything.
Over at her blog, pro-Cuban writers are all over the place, giving grief to the gusano element who had got used to having things all their own way in the comment boxes. Come and join the fun and watch the buggers howl!
Blokes, I think that we have won this one! Have a listen to Nathalie Cardone while you compose your gloats.

One can find interesting things by searching google with the phrase: beating without leaving marks

Er, yes, that’s cos she fabricates stories about internet access as I’ve demonstrated and as the photos of her using her laptop confirm. And obviously it’s on the record, otherwise you wouldn’t be reading it would you?

The only thing stalinist Calvin Tucker has demonstrated, over and over and over again, is how unhinged and deranged he is. Mind you, not only does he take pride in having disfigured another person, and boasts very loudly indeed his support for communism, terrorism, fundamentalism, dictatorships, etc. He is now defending violence against unarmed and totally innocent women. Way to go tiger, and please, please, don’t stop. It will be a pleasure in the future to add this little fact to other equally enlightening views of yours.

Loony Tunes… I said nothing of the sort. I did say that Sanchez had invented stories about her internet access, and suggested that her latest allegations should not be taken at face value.
And why on earth would I feel bad about coming out on top against an unprovoked attack by a gang of thugs? Bizarre.
11 November 2009, 12:35 am
A gang of thugs come and attack Calvin I-grew-up-in-Hackney Tucker, and guess what? While Tucker is unharmed, one of the thugs was left with lifetime consequences for, after all, bandaids don’t do the trick upon having received a beating so brutal that it required reconstructive surgery.
Then down the line Venezuelan people, discussing Venezuelan issues in a Venezuelan blog get offered the same treatment by a man who was first arrested for involvement in violent protests in Wapping.
All the while, beyond regular threats of physical violence, Tucker has had no qualms in claiming his support for military putschist, dictators, rogues, terrorists and radicals. He defines hundreds of deaths as “tactical success”, and after spending two weeks in Cuba, probably as a sex tourist, we are supposed to cast doubts about an innocent Cuban woman and believe this crackpot.
Te estan trabajando con esa yerba chimba panita.
11 November 2009, 2:01 am
Lemme see if I have this straight, Boyd.
You and Zin get involved in some grief over your support for the middle class vermin that are getting their arses handed to them in Venezuela. You complain to the press council and are basically told to sod off. Underlying all your grief is the fact that you cannot intimidate a man who spent almost a decade after the Wapping Dispute chasing the London filth for damages – and won! Is there anything that I have left out?
What evidence do you have to suggest sex tourism in Cuba by the way? None, I suspect, you just want to go al twitchy over a man who made you look a spaz over your complaint.
As for a certain little slag, you have no idea if it is honest or not, have you? You made that one up as well.
11 November 2009, 3:02 pm
Ever since the Press Complaints Commission ruled that there were “no inaccuracies” in the Guardian Cif piece I wrote about the connections between the London Conservative Party and Alek Boyd, the de-facto leader of the Venezuelan opposition in Britain, this foaming-at-the-mouth nutcase seems to have lost the plot entirely.
http://21stcenturysocialism.com/article/anti-chavez_blogger_loses_press_complaint_01885.html
First he claimed that the PCC ruling “reeked of discimination”, and accused them of using the “derogatory jargon” of Hugo Chavez.
But this deranged nut, who incidentally models himself on the 13th century warlord Genghis Khan, was only warming up.
Next he claimed that Google was the “ultimate propaganda tool of Hugo Chavez” and that they and the Venezuelan president were involved in a conspiracy to “safeguard” my “online reputation”. No, seriously.
And now he turns up here expressing sympathy for a street thug who picked on the wrong guy and inventing a story about me being a sex tourist.
But hey, I guess we shouldn’t be too surprised. After all, we are talking about an open admirer of General Pinochet who desires to “pour melted silver” into people’s eyes and wishes he had “eaten his half brother”.
11 November 2009, 7:31 pm
Thanks for the update, Zin. I looks like you have this bugger bang to rights. Bloody good work.
13 November 2009, 2:38 pm
Oh yes, the voice of truth have spoken, the admirer and loud apologist of Stalin, Castro, Chavez, Hamas, FARC, etc., has had me figured. Damn! My luck must have run out.
Talk about derangement all you like Tucker, still, unlike you, I have never beaten anyone up, thug or not, I have never threaten to beat people up over political differences, I have never been arrested for involvement in violent protests against perfectly legitimate and legal business decisions, but carry on comrade, keep on sucking, maybe you’ll have the chance to actually go and carry on your threats to people that differ, in the war Chavez is threatening Colombia with.

Seeing as Yoanni sends her blog via her mobile phone, she surely would have sent pictures of her black and blue face and body for all the world to see.
Surely?
