Pro-Hamas Campaigners: “NORMAN Frankstineine is Jew”

The Observer reports today:

A close ally of Nick Griffin, leader of the British National party, has been forced to withdraw from speaking at a London conference in support of Palestine amid mounting fury from anti-fascist groups.

Several politicians due to speak at the conference, organised by the Palestinian Return Centre (PRC), were alarmed to learn the background of fellow speaker Krisztina Morvai, a Hungarian MEP and leader of the far-right Jobbik party in the European parliament.

Labour MP Neil Gerrard pulled out of next month’s PRC conference after learning of Morvai’s background. The Liberal Democrat peer Baroness Tonge, independent MP and former Labour minister Clare Short, and Daud Abdullah, deputy secretary of the Muslim Council of Britain, who are all due to speak at the event, were also alerted about Morvai’s role in Jobbik.

The conference is promoted by the European Campaign to End the Siege of Gaza. A spokesman for the campaign confirmed that Morvai’s invitation had been withdrawn following protests. We did not want to get into trouble, so we decided to exclude her,” he said. “We want the conference to be about raising awareness about Palestine.”

Having secured the support of one of Europe’s most notorious fascists for their conference, it is nice that these Hamas supporters are so candid about their reasons for dropping her.

Indeed, had Nothing British About the BNP had not got them ‘into trouble’ for, you know, linking up with a neo Nazi, they’d have happily ushered her onto the platform with Clare Short and the Liberal Democrats’ Baroness Tonge.

Of course, the immediate reaction of the Palestine Return Centre was to insist that no such invitation had been issued. Unfortunately, Morvai’s office confirmed that she had been so invited. The PRC rushed around trying to cover its tracks, but Google tells the truth of the matter:

Many high profile personalities have agreed to join and there are more to confirm. The following is a list of those already confirmed:
•    Claire Short- British MP
•    Baroness Jenny Tonge- Former British MP
•    Professor Norman Finkelstein- American Political Scientist and Author
•    Ambassador Khalil Makkawi – head of the Lebanese-Palestinian Dialogue Committee
•    Dr Daud Abdullah- Expert on Palestinian issue and Deputy Secretary General of the MCB
•    Dr Bashir Nafi- Lecturer
•    Rachel Rudolf – Professor  in Political Science
•    Sami Mashasha – UNRWA Spokesperson
•    Ali Huwaidi – Director of Palestinian Organization for the Right of Return “Thabit” in Beirut
•    Tariq Hamoud – Director of Palestinian Return Community “WAJEB” in Syria
•    Wajih Azayiza – Jordanian representative of Palestinian Refugees
•    Ali Mustafa – Representative of Palestinian refugees in Host countries
•    Nadeem Shehadeh- Representative of Palestinian refugees in Host countries
•    Kristina Morvai – Lawyer, Human Rights Lecturer and Member of European Parliament
•    Anicee Van Engeland – Professor of Human Rights Law

Having been caught out, the PRC resorted to making comic threats against Nothing British. They have kindly shared with me an email which they received from Mr Sameh Habeeb of the PRC:

Nothing British’s recommendations

We believe it would be a terrible mistake for you to attend the PRC conference and to share a platform with homophobes, anti-Semites, racists and Islamists whose values are inimical to the gentle British values of tolerance, fair-play and respect for one another. This is very harmful paragraph. It destroys our renowned reputation that we have built over the years. Why didn’t you mention that NORMAN Frankstineine who is Jew is participating? This shows how unprofessional and bias you are.

URGENT REQUEST FROM PRC:

To avoid any problems and to avoid legal action we request the following:

1- Immediate removal of the article you are putting up.

2- Stopping the campaigning of Sabotage against PRC.

3- We ask you to commit the ethic of Journalism in writing your news.

4- We request you present your article in a very professional way without attacking us since you don’t have the right. That’s not journalism but unprofessionalism.

We are sorry  if we  take any legal actions against you and your website due to the false accusations in case we got no response to the above request.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Yeah, NORMAN Frankstineine the Jew. I think they might mean Finkelstein but, hey.

As things stand, Baroness Tonge will appear on the platform of an organisation which planned to put on a conference with a neo Nazi, and which employs Daud Abdullah, who signed the Istanbul Declaration which threatened attacks on ‘foreign Navies’ supporting the Gaza ceasefire, shortly after the Prime Minister had offered the support of the Royal Navy for just such a purpose.

Nick Clegg – take control of your party and rein in Baroness Tonge.

Oops, I mean “HIS politics.” I didn’t realize that the writer was identified as Mr Sameh Habeeb. Well, maybe English is his second language. Or perhaps his third.

Yup, you can tell that’s the work of a top-notch professional journalist. No doubt about it.

Nick Clegg knows perfectly well what Tonge stands for. He made that quite clear in his recent interview with the Jewish Chronicle where he said he knew that her continuing role in the LiberalDems would upset JC readers–but she had so much to say that was worth listening to:

Mr Clegg is clear that he will not silence his most controversial parliamentary colleague for recent comments about Hamas. (She called Hamas leader Khaled Mashal “shrewd, plausible and actually very likeable” during her Syrian visit.)

“Can the comments of Jenny Tonge in the recent past be described as racist? No. You can call them wrong, you can call them daft, you can call them misguided. But that’s not the point. Can you call them racist? They are not.”

But he goes further: “I have to say, and I know this will be enormously unpopular for many readers of the Jewish Chronicle, but the sad thing is that Jenny Tonge says many other things that are worth listening to and are completely obscured by what has become polemicised. It does a disservice to her.”

And here’s an example of one of the sayings of the Baroness which he presumably considers “not racist”:

The pro-Israeli lobby has got its grips on the western world, its financial grips. I think they’ve probably got a grip on our party

He also knows very well that her role is worth votes from some Muslims in some of the constituencies where courting them has been a staple of the LibDems’ local strategy.

Of course, the venue in question has an open door policy and, I assume, this is a public event, so what’s there to stop her appearing in the audience?

Who the fuck is this loser who can’t write properly? This guy needs remedial classes in English, and Liberal Studies.

Sort it out, Clegg. One could almost think that the Lib Dems were happy to tolerate anti-semitic filth in their party because it sends a nice wolf-whistle to certain voters… But that level of unprincipled opportunism? Surely not. Better discount such a mad idea.

Gordon Bennet

No way. The Lib Dems are renowned for being honest and principled.

It’s ironic, possibly in the Alanis Morrisette sense of the word, that people are withdrawing from a rally for an actively genocidal antisemitic organisation because one of the speakers is a (white) antisemite. Organiser’s response: “But! But! We got Jewface speaking too!”

Still, well done, Nothing British. And hello Leee John Barnes! Love your work.

Oh what lovely warm words from the paternalistic Tories at Nothing British. Are they saying its somehow unBritish to be racist? Considering the levels of racism that still exist in the UK, and also the long history of British racism woven into the very fabric of the British Empire, I would say racism is as British as the Sunday roast.

I think Nick Clegg has wisely understood that Jenny Tonge can make her own decisions and is not going as a respresentative of the Lib Dems (as in many parties, there are various camps anyway), and she is going in a personal capacity. Moreover, this has a trainspotter quality to it; it’s somehow terribly important to the HP obsessives who turns up at various conferences few have heard of and few care about. Yes, it’ s no doubt a portent of doom etc., but to the rest of us, say the average British voter, in Clegg’s eyes, its really irrelevant.

Egypt has walled off Gaza on it’s side of the frontier, but it is only Israel that gets blamed for carrying out a siege. Why do you think that is?

Egypt has walled off Gaza on it’s side of the frontier, but it is only Israel that gets blamed for carrying out a siege. Why do you think that is?

Probably because (delete as appropriate):

1. Israel were the kind and munificent rulers of Gaza before handing it over to the native ingrates and now need to go in occasionally to do bit of bombing there to sort out the terrorists.

2. Israel currently does not physical occupy Gaza but controls virtually all its borders, its economy, supplies etc., and uses this control implement a siege on the territory.

However, neither of the above is an accurate description of Egypt’s role – they control a single border.

Of course, there is the lazy option:

3. All criticism of Israel is motivated by ‘bias’ and ‘antisemitism’. Let’s just hunker down in our bunkers with our hands over our ears, where you’ll also find Gene Zitver hunched over his computer keyboard.

So you are a anti-British bigot, you are a racist.

Thanks, I have thought for some time now that you were, nevertheless it is always gratifying to have ones belief verified straight from the horses arse, sorry Freudian slip there, horses “mouth”.

Egypt is real pisser for the Israel haters isn’t it, that’s why they just pretend it isn’t there, they pretend because if they don’t they look a bit anti-Jewish statist, they simply hate being accused of being “ists”, if it was really about ‘the wall’ then they would protest outside the Egyptian embassy, the would organize demo’s against the Egyptians, the would burn the Egyptian flag, but they don’t really, do they.

Anyone who is pro-hamas is a Jew hater, it really is that simple, no hidden agenda, no semantic shell game, no need to pretend it is all about “resistance”, it is Jew hatred, plain and simple.

If Israel exercises all this control over Gaza then how come the Gazans aren’t starving and looking like Sudanese refugees?

How come Hamas has money for weapons – and uses them?

The fact is that the border with Israel is open and goods are flowing. Yes, they are subject to checks that they aren’t smuggling arms but that is only natural. Why would you arm killers?

And when the opressed people of Gaza get to embrace their long-lost relatives and colleagues in West Bank they embrace, warmly around each other’s throats.

Ever factored that Israeli border control stops a Palestinian Civil War?

The demand that Egypt cease to Police the Gaza border in any way is made by the Muslim Brotherhood. Who wants to be seen endorsing them?

And the spittle-flecked antisemites on this site (”When I demonise Israel in racist terms, using every lie in the book, I am not being antisemitic – I am merely being anti-Zionist”) are all the proof we need for the truth of that statement.

Skydog,

I concede your moral point, but Frankenstein does refer to his creature/creation as a “monster”:

E.g. chapter 9:

“I had been the author of unalterable evils; and I lived in daily fear, lest the monster whom I had created should perpetrate some new wickedness.”
