Combat 18 claims responsibility for terrorist attack
This is a cross post by Edmund Standing

Combat 18 Russia is claiming responsibility for the recent terrorist attack on a passenger train.
Many analysts are unconvinced. If it turns out the C18 claim is false, this is nonetheless a worrying development insofar as C18 Russia is clearly seeking to position itself as an active terrorist organisation.
Here’s the inspiration for the worldwide C18/Blood & Honour movement:
And here’s a video featuring Russian neo-Nazi training camp footage:
An AP report notes:
Extreme nationalism is also a deadly problem in Russia. Skinheads and neo-Nazi groups have carried out frequent attacks, mostly targeting ethnic groups from the Caucasus and Central Asia.
Nationalists were blamed in a similar blast that caused a derailment along the same railway line in 2007, injuring 27 passengers. Authorities arrested two suspects in the 2007 train blast and are searching for a third, a former military officer.
UPDATE
According to this report, the C18 statement reads:
We, the militant autonomous group Combat 18, claim the responsibility for the attack against Nevsky Express. We will continue! The time has come. We say that the war will affect everyone. There are no indifferent people and no innocent victims in this war. There are only our supporters and enemies.
The group has also claimed responsibility for an explosive device found in the subway in Saint Petersburg on November 14.

I’m guessing as a show of strength. They seek to destabilise Russia, so perhaps this is their way of proving they have the capability.
29 November 2009, 2:08 pm
What I’ll bet the AP doesn’t mention is that those ‘ Skinheads and neo-Nazi groups [carrying out]frequent attacks, mostly targeting ethnic groups from the Caucasus and Central Asia’ are encouraged by the russian government. Sometimes they are given targets, and often they are helped to avoid prosecution.

Look – theres a flying pig !
Christ almighty you are either an idiot who will believe anything or simply an cynical opportunist exploiting this tragic crime for crass political reasons.
Which is it ?
Get a grip – try and retain some integrity.
The idea that a group of skinheads could destabilise Russia is the sort of hysterical, inane wank fantasy rubbish we see spewed in the pages of Searchlies.
Sure the Russian skins will kick the crap out of people on the streets, but bombings – come off it.
This either FSB false flag attacks or Chechens rebels who did the same thing last year.
Pathetic edmund, truly pathetic.

Hmmm. Combat 18–not exactly renowned for their track record anywhere. Do they even know where Russia is these days (hint: it’s not where Hitler used to think it was)?
Looking at the YouTube clip, my military experience is limited to sitting in trenches near the Jordan in Galilee, being fired at by the Syrian Army in the days before 67 when they still had the Golan Heights. But even I can see that these characters don’t know how to position themselves when firing guns– they seem to be taken by surprise by the recoil.
Like the way they call everything, including their collection of YouTube clips or the organizer(s) thereof a “Division”, as in “how many Divisions has the Pope?”. Have they had the management consultants in, or something? Or maybe we can do an update of the good old Lightbulb joke.
How many Combat 18ers does it take to make a crude low res video, stick on some subtitles and upload it to YouTube?
Answer, a Division. That’s three to operate the machinery and they’re still waiting for a few more thousand to join so that half can point to the letters, the other half can make the sounds, and a kidnapped Reading Recovery assistant can help them put the sounds together to pronounce the words.

@LJB- what’s membership policy like? The track playing through it is excellent!
29 November 2009, 2:54 pm
Lee, are you suggesting the C-18 Russia did not, at least, claim responsibility?
29 November 2009, 2:54 pm
This either FSB false flag attacks or Chechens rebels who did the same thing last year.
Cross-posting from the other BNP thread here…
Lee, surely the Chechens are now very obese and exhausted from centuries of over-breeding (recall, these are your views on Brown, Black and assorted non-White people). How could you dream of trying to pin it on shagged out non-Aryan fatties?
Perhaps you could starve them to death (another one of your prescriptions for non-White people from the other thread on HP)?
Nazi.

I am sceptical of this claim.
I have looked at the Russian Combat-18 website:
http://www.c18russia.org/news.html
And it was last updated to deal with current events in February this year. It is still an ugly site, with details of how to create bombs etc.
I have been checking on the Chechen Muhajideen website, Kavkaz Center:
http://www.kavkazcenter.com/eng/
Usually they report Islamist attacks before anyone in the Russian news agencies have all the facts. When Nalchik in the Russian Federal Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria was attacked by armed Muslim insurgents in 2005, this site was broadcasting the strategic aims and intentions of the attack long before the Russian media had specific details.
Until conclusive evidence is forthcoming, I will not bet on either Russian fascists or Islamist separatists.

As evil as Combat18 are, I don’t think they would target trains – not unless they were sure only Blacks or Muslims were on them. They’re racist like that, you see.
Quite a few nutty extremes groups claim responsibilty for things like this in a bid to get some publicity.
Live long and keep fighting terrorism.
29 November 2009, 5:30 pm
I’m scratching my head as to why the legal director of a 100% legitimate, peaceful and democratic political party would leap to the defence of some violent neo-nazi skinheads when according to the propaganda of said 100% legitimate, peaceful and democratic political party, violent neo-nazi skinheads have nothing to do with them.
29 November 2009, 5:42 pm
I agree with PeterParker. The C18 thing just doesn’t fit.
Good to see comment from Abu Faris on the topic of extremism. Abus Faris who used to go by the nom de guerre Khartoumi, that is.
29 November 2009, 5:50 pm
Nah, I think it was Frank Dobson.
Or John and Edward.
Both much more likely.
29 November 2009, 5:56 pm
The original C18 was founded in the early 90’s as an off shoot of the bnp security department. In the UK they are are now long defunct (& have been since soon after the conviction of Charlie Sargeant for muderering Chris Castle in ‘98). However it would appear the brand name has been exported to Russia (I simply can’t understand why any russian would buy into ‘neo-hitlerism’ bearing in mind the millions of ’sub human slavs’ the nazis butchered in the 2nd WW)
Lee, why are you still posting comments on a site that you clearly regard as a online home for a nest of traitors?
http://leejohnbarnes.blogspot.com/2009/11/zionist-sunday-express-attack.html
As I now & then make comments that are against you & you cronies can I expect a ‘knock on the door’ the day after the bnp take power?
29 November 2009, 5:58 pm
I could only cope with about two minutes of the Russian video. When the blokes stripped down to their shorts, I concluded that I had accidentally inserted a porno…
There is probably a good PhD project analysing homo-eroticism and far right politics. Naked chests, exaggerated alopecia and all that.

“Many analysts are unconvinced. If it turns out the C18 claim is false, this is nonetheless a worrying development insofar as C18 Russia is clearly seeking to position itself as an active terrorist organisation.”
What a strange statement indeed. I think you mean, ‘if it turns out the C18 claim is false, this is nonetheless a worrying development insofar as so many bloggers gave credence to their bullshit’.
Also, Comabt 18 have always positioned themselves as a paramilitary group.
29 November 2009, 7:31 pm
gtm, they’re not entirely defunct. They became the ‘Racial Volunteer Force’. The fact that the leaders of that group are currently banged up hasn’t helped them, of course.
For those who think the training video looks absurd, bear in mind that so do Jihadist ones.
And these Russian Nazis are very fond of violence. Just because they seem like a bunch of thugs doesn’t mean they can’t do damage. By all accounts al-Zarqawi was a petty criminal and thug.

Thank you GTM for giving us the link to Lee Barnes Blogsite.
It was quite an eye opener.
How different do these neonazis sound when they are not appearing on Question Time trying to appear “moderate”
Has Barnes crossed the boundary of reasonable discourse with his rantings ? and could there be a case for prosecution ?

Compared to how many millions were killed in the name of Labour since Iraq invasion, C18 is nothing.
If you are afraid of a knock on your doors, why do you send armies abroad then. Aren’t they knocking on other peoples doors?

@ Edmund S
I’ve heard about the ‘RVF’ but understood (both of) them to be even more marginal than the excremental British Peoples Party. The use of the words ‘volunteer force’ in the groups name clearly references loyalist terror gangs & if my memory serves me correctly C18 attempted to ‘flirt’ with the UDA in the early 90’s – a relationship that went no where when the UDA realised C18 were pot bellied oafs rather than real killers. Will Browning is still around thought & recently had some legal issues.
@ BNP exposed
Yep, Lee has not only crossed the boundaries of reasonable discourse but shat on them as well. You do realise that you could be hung for treason in the event Lee gets into power for posting about him on HP?
29 November 2009, 10:04 pm
If this is a neo-Nazi attack, then I hope the FSB torture the shit out of the suspects. I’m normally concerned about human rights abuses in Russia. But if they’ve got the Russian equivalents of Lee Barnes attached to the national grid, I’ll pass.

Why would they bomb a train?
I understand that the target train run was known to carry a lot of government officials and this isn’t the first time it was attacked.

I refer you to my articles and comments here and elsewhere, Ben.
I have never blogged here or elsewhere under any other nickname than the one I am presently using.
Your assumption is plausibly based on my place of residence and my faith. There are quite a lot of people living and working in my corner of the world who come from elsewhere, Ben. There are also quite a lot of Muslims about the place.
If the assumption is that all Muslims are dishonest in their dealings, then there is little point in continuing to discuss matters with you. If you have any evidence for your spoiling claims, then either put up or shut up, Ben.

29 November 2009, 11:27 pm
For proving me right, Ben?
I hardly think so, given your excellent post on the Swiss Minarets thread.
I am concerned, however, that you can provide not a shred of evidence – and contrary to your odd suggestions about some other person you think I am, I have been persistently blogging against Islamism here and elsewhere (I take it Khartoumi did not).
Leave me alone, please.
29 November 2009, 11:29 pm
Abu Khartoumi sniffs – ‘If the assumption is that all Muslims are dishonest in their dealings, then there is little point in continuing to discuss matters with you. If you have any evidence for your spoiling claims, then either put up or shut up, Ben.’
errr, will this do you, Jefferies -

Thanks for the compliment, Karen. It is nice to be encouraged.
I gave up writing for a while recently after the death last October of my dear friend, the American Cellist and professor of music, Lenny Stehn, who had encouraged me enormously – and was himself gifted with an erudition, wit and style that it is hard to imagine can ever be surpassed.’
Anyway stick around, Abu/Khartoumi/Jefferies or whatever you want to call yourself on any give day. We take all sorts here. We’re what you might call, tolerant. Though if i were you, i wouldn’t go round telling porkies all the while feigning indignence ‘asa Muslim’ then getting caught out. Not everyone is as tolerant as we are.
29 November 2009, 11:31 pm
Look Ben, I and others on Spittoon and sometimes here are really trying to do some good by exposing the clerical fascists and other extremists in the midst of our faith community. I am not sure what you think is to be achieved by wrecking my credibility in this task.
I would ask you to judge me on what I have written here and elsewhere. I am not asking for any kind of apology, just some common sense on your part.
Thanks

I think you will find, Ben, that I did not write that post on Progressive Islam. Faris is a fairly common Arabic boy’s name and “Abu” means “father”. I was actually rather concerned myself to find an Islamist member of JI blogging under the same name quite recently. He’s not me either.
29 November 2009, 11:36 pm
AF / Khartoumi – ‘I hardly think so, given your excellent post on the Swiss Minarets thread.’
I haven’t posted on the Swiss Minarets thread yet. I might do though. Seriously, stick around, Khartoumi. You’ve always had a certain entertainment value.
29 November 2009, 11:42 pm
Take it or leave it, Ben. I have spoken the truth.
That is all I have to say on this matter.

So, not only is the bastard nicking your name, place of residence, your faith (that you also converted to) BUT he’s also got a kid by the same name as your own boy AND if all that wasn’t bad enough, he emulates your (very) unique characteristics which he then pours into his every written word. Is there no end to this fiendishness.
You carry on, pal.

All joking aside, before i call it a night Alex and others. I don’t think he’s malicious though plenty would disagree with me, more a crank.
You don’t need an experts eye to compare a selection of his output here and on other blogs . Some might say he is ‘gifted with an erudition, wit and style’ all of his own.

Berchy, surprised to see you posting here. Obviously things over at Ci(not)F are a bit quiet.

PS – Who is/was Khartoumi? If Birchy sticks up for him, I’m a little dubious about him.

Ha ha ha! I loved that video! It was like a Borat parody.
The fearsome Combat 18 delicately tiptoeing through the snow and then slipping over on their asses.
The best bit was when they were kicking each other. The camera panned across with each of the Nazis wearing progressively skimpy undies! Ha ha ha!
Did it make you horny Lee John Barnes? I bet Nick Griffin’s got the full uncut version! Ha ha ha!
30 November 2009, 11:03 am
Young muscly men in skimpy undies engaged in rough and tumble – who could possibly get a tingle in the trousers about that eh?
30 November 2009, 11:09 am
Worth remembering that the one time C18 tried to play the terrorism game (a small number of letter bombs posted from Scandinavia to the UK) it ended in no prosecutions in the UK.
Why?
Probably because Darren Wells, a Searchlight and security services mole in C18, was directly involved in the plot, and charging anyone else would have revealed his role………….

I am certain that people HAVE made what appears to be neo-Nazi gay porno but I think it was obvious that the gay porno element had the upper hand over the play-Nazi stuff from the word go.
There was a soft-core semi-porno called ‘Scorpio Rising’ on a gay leather boy theme.
The late Robert Mapplethorpe was keen on taking nicely-focussed pix of muscular young chaps in semi-Nazi biker kit doing very saucy things with one another, which is one reason why Esther Rantzen wanted the UK public shielded from such depravity.
30 November 2009, 4:59 pm
This connection seems wonky from here, hence the unintended triple submission above.
Anything to do with muscular boys in leather risks rapidly sliding into comedy campness, but putting together a piece of exciting gay filth with Nazi songs would be a real triumph for a low-budget sleaze director/producer.

Three days after the bombing of the Nevsky Express Moscow-St. Petersburg in Russia is again an attack had been perpetrated on a train. The number of casualties of the terrorist attack rose to the Nevsky Express, however increased to 26 Yesterday’s crime scene suggests that the bombers are looking into extremist groups from the North Caucasus. Remains in the dark, therefore, what lies behind the claim of the St. Petersburg State-right group Combat 18, “she had brought the Nevsky Express derailed.
